After many months of intensive usage by customers and several releases with improvements and fixes, the Web Client of Teamwire is now publicly available in version 1.11.

Stand-alone App with All Popular Features

The Web Client has the same feature set and the intuitive design of our native desktop apps. All features that our users have come to value are included (e.g. professional group chats, distribution lists, broadcasting, multi-media attachments, file sharing, read receipts, chat administration and company directory). Besides chats are persistent and get instantly synchronized across a user’s devices.

The Web Client is a stand-alone app. That means that you don’t need to have your mobile app running in parallel and it is not a companion client – like you might know it from WhatsApp or other consumer messaging apps. Therefore our Web Client can be used easily on any laptop or desktop with a browser client.

The Web Client is currently compatible with modern browsers like:
 – Firefox
 – Google Chrome
 – Microsoft Edge
 – Opera
 – Safari

In addition, the Web Client can be used on Chrome Mobile, Safari Mobile, etc and could even be installed as a Progressive Web App on a desktop.

While the Web Client has the same design as the native desktop apps, the underlining technology is more modern and thus the web client is significantly faster. Actually the native apps for the desktops are going to be migrated to the new technology until the end of the year as well.

Separate Security and Compliance Policies

In the administrator dashboard of Teamwire we have added separate security and compliance permissions for the Web Client. Thus an enterprise can now configure different security and data protection policies for the usage of mobile apps, desktop apps, web client and bots.

That can be important, if an enterprise would like to enforce different security levels, data access and retention periods on the various platforms (e.g. a pure browser access might need to be more protected than a fully managed mobile device).

Some enterprises prefer the Web Client, because it is faster to roll-out across the user base than a native app that needs to be installed on every desktop. The Web Client might also be easier to maintain for some organizations, because app updates for all users happen automatically with a server update.

Contact Us for a Trial

In order to use the Web Client the ID/password login needs to be enabled for the users in the administrator dashboard of Teamwire. In general, from a license perspective the use of the Web Client counts per user.
